The New Year celebration starts on the advent of Christmas all around the world but actual day of celebration begins at the Eve of 31st December every Year.
Advent of New Year Celebration
Due to different time zones of countries the New Year celebration time is different in the whole world. Kiribati Island in Pacific Ocean welcomes the year first. Thereafter New Zealand and Australia celebrates New Year. The Baker Island celebrates it in the last. Most of the Country celebrates the New Year as per Gregorian calendar on 1st January every year.
How Peoples Celebrate New Year
Peoples decorate their houses with illuminating lights and decorative items to welcome the start of Year. Besides this, every nook and corner of markets and malls are adorned decoratively too. On this occasion; the shops of gifts, Greeting Cards and Sweets looks packed with peoples.
Everyone celebrates this day with their own ways. Some peoples enjoys this day going out on Dinner with family, buying new clothes and giving gifts to their loved ones. Some takes part in dance program at night to welcome the year with bang.
Peoples send messages or Greeting Card to their friends and family to wish the New Year. Nowadays, Facebook, Whatsapp and other social network application are the common platform to wish the Happy New Year to family and friends.
New Year Eve Celebration in Other Parts of World
New Year celebration depends on adopted calendar system by the Countries of the world whether Lunar or Solar Calendar. While most of the Countries celebrate New Year as per Gregorian calendar on 1st January while followers of Lunar Calendar Celebrates it on different dates.
In Japan, New Year Eve is celebrated by ringing bell 108 times in the temple to dispel the negativity.
Denmark celebrates New Year through smashing saucers at the front door of their near dear one in a sign of affection.
In Russia peoples write their wishes on a piece of paper then burn it and mix the ashes of it in champagne and drink it.
In Greece, there is a tradition of hiding coins in cake. If anybody gets the coin in his/her piece of cake then the guy is considered as lucky.
In Spain there are 12 grapes eating tradition to welcome the New Year. It signifies good luck.
In Brazil, peoples celebrate the New Year Eve wearing all white clothes to ward off the evil spirits.
New Year Eve Celebration in India
In India too this festivity is celebrated with great pomp and show. Lots of parties are organized to welcome the New Year with great enthusiasm. Peoples enjoy this time doing lots of fun. This is the last day of passing year when a glance of past events are broadcast over the television. Some special programs are organized to welcome the coming year with a bang of happiness.
Traditionally in India New Year starts in the month of March-April which is called “Vikram Samvat”. But January 1st is also celebrated vibrantly throughout the country.
New Year Eve – Showcasing of Fireworks (Pyrotechnics)
Many countries celebrate New Year through displaying wonderful pyrotechnics. Lot of practice and preparation are done to mark the event with fun. These pyrotechnics (fireworks) are the real attraction of New Year Eve and most of the countries are in the race of showcasing of best pyrotechnics. These activity increase the charm of this festivity and at the advent of New Year the whole sky gets illuminated with these pyrotechnics.
This festivity fills the environment with love, happiness and prosperity.
